On May 12, 2023, the Orazio Flacco Institute welcomed the free screening initiative promoted by the Onlus Campus Salute association. These days are of crucial importance for spreading the culture of health and awareness among young students. The presence of specialists in the sector offered a valuable opportunity for students to receive information on medical prevention and on the importance of identifying any health problems early.

We are grateful to the Headmaster, Iolanda Giovidelli, for underlining the importance of these prevention days, demonstrating a real interest in the well-being of her students. The presence of the President of Campus Salute, Pasquale Antonio Riccio, and of Dr. Rossana Arianna helped to provide further information on the mission and importance of the Third Sector in promoting health and prevention.

The deepening ìprovided by Doctor Domenico Serpico on the functioning of the pituitary gland, the thyroid gland and the main organs of the endocrine system, together with information on the various types of screening and therapies for the treatment of tumours, was certainly very educational for the students.

During the presentation, the most recent achievements of the association were also outlined, such as the very recent visit to the UN headquarters in New York on the occasion of the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2023.

It was encouraging to note the interest and participation of the students during the event, with their active participation through questions addressed to the specialists and the willingness to undergo free medical examinations in the classroom dedicated to the event. This shows how important it is for young people to be informed and aware of their health.

We would like to express special thanks to the director of Istituzioni24, Massimo Iaquinangelo, and to the teacher Olga Cirillo for having moderated the event and contributed to its success.

In conclusion, we can say with certainty that the Campus Salute association will continue to carry out similar activities in schools in the region, promoting medical prevention among young people with the aim of reducing mortality related to non-communicable diseases and guaranteeing an aware and healthy generation . We are grateful to all those who have made this important initiative possible and we look forward to the future of the collaboration between our association and Liceo Quinto Orazio Flacco for the good of the students and the community.
