The year 2019 was full of exciting activities, which confirmed the importance of prevention and health thanks to the involvement of our doctors, volunteers and participants throughout Italy. Being present from north to south has encouraged the spread of our aim with excellent results. After the adventure of the Naples Campus, which is our home, we participated in the event “Atelier of Health”, held in October and organized by Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Federico II (University Hospital “Federico II”) and the School of Medicine and Surgery of the University Federico II. The Campus Salute has set up its hospital inside the Neapolitan university citadel to ensure free medical examinations thanks to the collaboration of the doctors of Azienda Ospedaliera, Pro Onlus Foundation and all our volunteers.
We can absolutely speak of a positive feedback with about 600 visits and a significant increase of young participants, who really know the importance of prevention.
On November 9th and 10th we moved to Roccaraso and they were performed 600 free examinations were carried out for nutrition, metabolism, orthopaedics, geriatrics, dentistry, osteopathy, neurology, dermatology, pediatrics, endocrinology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, physiatry, cardiology and plastic surgery. The event ended with a beautiful gesture by the participants, who, as they pleased, left a message hanging from the tree, positioned in the center of the structure, symbolizing life.
Finally, a few weeks later, the Health Campus was held in Pompeii, for the last stage of 2019, where numerous free visits were made thanks to the support of our volunteers and doctors. During these two days the population also participated in sports events in the name of health education in order to be able to reach the younger generations.
2020 opened in Marigliano, on January 25 and 26, in collaboration with the Rotary Club Marigliano “Adrianea”. The first step was very successful with free check-ups in the clinics of Endocrinology, Osteoporosis, Andrology, Posturology, Clinical Nutrition and Pediatrics. Unfortunately, then 2020 surprised us, forcing us to rest, but it did not stop the desire to realize our main goal: to educate young people and citizens to the culture of prevention of health. We will also strive this year, even with the unexpected results of a global pandemic, to increase our wealth of knowledge with regard to the need to learn how to listen to one’s body, not ignoring it, but taking the best care of it, just preventing any kind of problem.
